Apricot mango smoothie is a tasty refreshing drink made with only 4 ingredients. It’s also naturally vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free. Made with fresh fruits!
Why try apricot mango smoothie?
- It’s perfect for summer.
- No milk, no milk-alternatives – I only used orange juice to thin the smoothie so there is no regular milk added, no yogurt nor any plant-based milk alternative.
- Easy to make.
- Nutritious drink – this mango apricot smoothie is full of vitamins and fiber.
- Only 4 ingredients – Now, the sweetener is completely optional so actually you might only need 3 ingredients to make it!
How to make apricot mango smoothie
Throw all the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Taste it and add more sweetener, if you like. It’s easy-peasy!
Optional extras & substitutions
- Banana – if you want to feel fuller after drinking this apricot mango smoothie, you can add banana to it. However, note that the overall taste will change and your smoothie might lose some of its refreshing taste. To fix this, you can increase the amount of apricots or mango.
- I used fresh mango to make this apricot mango smoothie. You can substitute it with frozen mango pieces (it will save you time cutting mango as it can be quite messy, if you don’t know how to do it. Here is a step-by-step process, if you need some help: How to cut a mango.
- Agave syrup can be omitted completely or substituted with honey or maple syrup or other sweetener of your choice.
- Ice cubes – if you feel that your smoothie is not chilled enough to your liking, add ice. Also when using frozen mango, there is usually no need for ice!
Can smoothie replace breakfast?
Now that depends. If you make a well-balanced smoothie with a good amount of protein and healthy fats and not just fruits or vegetables, then you could. However, it is not easy to do, if you don’t know how much of what ingredient to add … well, a background in nutrition would be pretty helpful, but how many of us have that, right?
For that reason, I suggest adding smoothies to your diet (you can sip on them slowly throughout the day/morning if you like) but not substituting a complete meal.
Take this apricot mango smoothie, for example. While it is full of nutrients, it does not contain protein nor healthy fats so I would pair it with other snacks or foods that will keep you full. One of my favorite snacks are Peanut Butter Banana Roll Ups or Fruity Energy Bars.
Or what about serving your favorite smoothie alongside Chocolate Oatmeal, avocado toast topped with egg & bacon (for non-vegans) or Hummus, sprouts, seeds (for vegans)?

Apricot Mango Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup Apricots , diced (140g)
- 1 cup Mango , diced (170g), see note 4
- 1 cup Orange Juice (250ml)
- 1 tbsp Agave Syrup , see note 5
- Ice (optional)
Instructions
- Throw all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
- Best served right away!
Notes
- This recipe can be easily doubled or halved, if needed.
- This apricot mango smoothie is also naturally vegan, dairy-free and gluten-free.
- If you like drinking ice cold smoothies, either add some ice cubes to your smoothie, or you an also add some directly to your blender (adding too much ice can dilute the smoothie and it can lose its refreshing taste).
- Fresh mango can be substituted with frozen mango. The weight of the whole mango I used was 1lb (450g) including the stone. The amount of flesh you will be able to use will depend on its ripeness and also on the size of the stone.
- Adding agave syrup is completely optional. You can substitute it with honey or maple syrup or omit it completely.
- Orange juice – organic or freshly squeezed orange juice are the best options, but you can use a regular one. If you do, you might not need to add any sweetener at all.
- This recipe yields a little over 2 cups (17ounces/500ml) of smoothie.
- If using frozen mango, the prep time will be less than 5 minutes!
