How to make chocolate chip overnight oats with raspberries
How to make overnight oats you ask? If you are new to the whole process, then read on:
Get a jar that is large enough to hold all the ingredients. Now bear in mind that the oats will need space to expand. I used a 15 oz (450ml) jar. It’s perfect for ½ cup – ⅔ cup oats + other ingredients.
The preparation is simple and quick: Throw everything in the jar, secure with a lid and shake well. Transfer the jar into the fridge and take it out the following morning.
You can eat this raspberry chocolate chip overnight oats warm or cold. Now if you decide to heat it up, note that the chocolate chips might dissolve completely (this would depend on how warm you like your oats).
Ingredient substitutions
- Greek Yogurt – Natural yogurt is another option. You could also use chocolate flavored yogurt.
- Raspberries can be omitted or substituted with strawberries or other berries.
- Chocolate Chips – if you don’t have them on hand, roughly chop chocolate bar and add to the jar.
Tips for making raspberry chocolate chip overnight oats
- Raspberries and chocolate chips can be added to your oats either with the rest of the ingredients or right before serving.
- The amount of ingredients can be adjusted to your liking.
- These chocolate chip overnight oats can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days. However, if you are planning on storing them for longer than overnight you should be adding the berries and chocolate chips right before serving.
- Also note that the longer they sit in the fridge the softer they get (the more liquid they suck).
