For any food blogger photo/recipe sharing websites are something like doors to the food photography/blogging world. We all want to get in to be seen by others. We want to show the world our food creations and hope that “the world” will like them and will visit our blogs! We all need traffic to thrive after all!
These sites are something like pretty thick catalogues containing recipes of food bloggers from all over the world! Within minutes you can discover new recipes as well as new food blogs that are out there.
In order to submit your food photos to these sites you need to sign up with most of them. Once you have created a free account you can start submitting your recipes. Each food photo sharing website has its own requirements for submitting. Some require you to upload link and the image, some ask for keywords, some don’t. The image size can also vary from site to site.
Are you wondering what sites are they? Do you wanna know the number of followers they have on social media? Are you interested in knowing a bit more about their submission process?
We’ve got it all covered!
We looked at 18 recipe/photo sharing websites and talked about:
- Popularity – I am sure we all know Foodgawker & Tastespotting and we all want to have our pictures submitted there. But there are other alternatives that are worth submitting too! Check their social media to see how many followers they have!
- Submission process – How long does it take to submit your picture and what do you need?
- Accepting period – So you have submitted your photo. Now what? Well, now you wait until the editors accept or decline it. It may take hours, days even months! Nothing is worse than waiting days, weeks for your pictures to be accepted (especially when it comes to seasonal recipes). We have included this quite important information under every single food photo/recipe sharing website. Note that there are sites where you don’t need to wait at all!
So here is the list of the best food photo sharing websites:
Foodgawker
This is probably the largest food photo sharing website. It had taken us a while before our pictures were accepted. What we found cool, they didn’t. An awkward angle was one of the first mistakes we made alongside with over exposed pictures or low light pictures. They accept photos really quickly – usually in 12-24 hours.

Tastespotting is similar looking as Foodgawker. But! While submitting your pictures takes only a minute, accepting them is not what it used to be! More and more often it takes several weeks (sometimes months) for them to accept your photos. I don’t know what the reason is but it’s pretty inconvenient! Let’s hope this will change back to normal soon.

Thanks for including Yum Goggle – glad we made the top 10 of your food site traffic-getters……….we are still not even 2 years old yet so we are small but mighty AND Huffington Post and a few other big media companies follow us on Instagram choosing photos here and there to feature while REALLY brings traffic. We are one of the few that Huff Post uses because they know we authenticate all our posts/photos first to verify that the blogger actually took the photo themselves……….something not all the food sites do.
Thanks for your submissions and we hope you will continue to contribute!
Julia | Happy Foods Tube says
You are welcome! Authentication is quite important – nothing is worse than stolen pictures/posts! Great job!

Good list, perfect for new bloggers to get a hold of things around here. Yummly features quite high in your traffic list, for me however it does not seem to help much. Now sure what I am doing wrong with Yummly. However you missed out FoodYub, another new site but for the moment it is driving my maximum traffic per post accepted, just as much as Foodgawker. BTW, Instructables does not seem to have a way to link the blog, correct me if I am wrong.

Great information. Fridgg is another one that’s easy to upload to and sends me traffic.
Julia | Happy Foods Tube says
Hi Nicole! Thank you. Yes, you are right. I’ve started uploading to Fridgg recently so will see how it goes :). Thanks for your comment!
