Fun and easy Mickey Mouse fondant cupcake toppers will make any Mickey Mouse fan happy! They are edible, cute and made with no special tools or cutters!
Who doesn’t love Mickey Mouse, right? As a kid I loved Mickey Mouse. It was always a treat when my mom bought Mickey Mouse comic book for me! The best reading ever!
Now I am sure you know at least one Mickey Mouse fan among your friends (well, I do) so why not surprise them with Mickey Mouse cupcakes?
When it comes to tools needed to make these Mickey Mouse fondant cupcake toppers you might be surprised that you will not need any special cutters. You only need 2 round cutters. One cutter for head and one for ears. The ears can be cut out using a piping tip or a bottle cap or anything really. It should have 2.5cm in diameter. The cutter for head should be 4.5cm wide.
Tools used to make Mickey Mouse cupcake toppers:
- 2 Round cutters (4.5cm & 2.5cm in diameter-use a bottle cap, or anything of such size if you don’t have 2.5cm round cutter)
- Rolling pin
- Black fondant
- Red fondant
- White/yellow fondant
- Knife
- Some Icing sugar to flour the surface & fondant
- Some water (this will act as a glue)

Advice & Recommendation:
Black Fondant
I highly recommend buying black fondant instead of dyeing white one. Believe me – it saves you a lot of time and trouble. Also it is very hard to get proper black shade. You would need a lot of food coloring. You can’t use liquid coloring – that would not end up good. Believe me. Just so you know the more color you add the stickier, softer the fondant gets. This makes it quite difficult to work with. So my recommendation is: Buy it instead of dyeing!
Red Fondant
You could dye white fondant red but as with black fondant be prepared for the fondant to get really soft. This will cause a problem especially when you will need a lot of it. However it is still doable. If you decide to color white fondant red, make sure you use gel color. Stay away from liquid one! If you know you will be doing many cupcakes I would also buy ready colored red fondant.

Icing Sugar:
If you don’t have icing/powdered sugar on hand you can use corn flour instead.
