This homemade beet, orange and carrot juice is one of the must-try juicing recipes. It’s refreshing, with a sweet taste and a touch of earthiness.
It is the perfect drink for winter when the produce is in season.
Why make a homemade juice?
Making fresh juices from scratch is a great way to incorporate more fruits and vegetables into our diet. This natural juice with beets, oranges and carrots is a great way to achieve that. It’s good for you and your body.
Plus:
- It’s not easy to find a good quality 100% pure juice.
- Good quality juices tend to be expensive.
- You might not be happy with flavors that are available
- Many of them will still contain preservatives.
And, if drinking water is not your thing, but you still want to drink the good stuff, juicing vegetables and fruits is a great option. Or, try making infused waters!

- Freshly squeezed lemon juice.
- Fresh ginger – A little goes a long way.

Sweeteners:
If you find that this beet, orange and carrot juice not sweet enough for your taste, feel free to add a sweetener of your choice. Honey and maple syrup are great options. Or use an apple instead.
Just note that you will need to stir the honey well as it does not melt easily when added to cold beverages.
Expert tips
- Always clean your juicer right away! The sooner you clean it the shorter time you will need to do it!
- You can save some of the pulp and add it back to the juice, if you wish.
- Homemade juices lose some of their nutrients when exposed to light, time, heat or air. That is why it is always best to drink them as soon as possible. It can also depend on the type of juicer you have.

Beet, Orange and Carrot Juice
Ingredients
- 1 beet , raw, peeled (small-medium), see note 1
- 1 pound carrots peeled (450 grams), see note 2
- 2 pounds oranges peeled (900 grams)
Instructions
- Cut all the produce into smaller pieces (so they can fit in the juicer’s feed/mouth) and process through the juicer (in any order).

Notes
- Do not use stems and greens from the beet. Beet (US) = beetroot (UK). When peeling and cutting beets, it is best to use gloves to avoid any staining to your hands.

Hi
I have just made this, beetroot, orange and carrot juice and it seems to be very thick? Should I add water or have I gone wrong somewhere? Taste very nice, but I wouldn’t be able to drink it! More like eat with a spoon!!!
Thanks

Hi Barbara. What type of juicer did you use? I only use a fast juicer (centrifugal – it’s the most common juicer). With fast juicer you will get pure juice without any pulp. If you use a slow juicer (also called masticating juicer) then the juice will have some pulp in it which can make it thicker. However I have never used this type so not sure how thick it can turn. I suppose you could use a sieve to get pure juice, if preferred.

Hi I used a nutribullet!
Julia | Happy Foods Tube says
Nutribullet will turn your veggies and fruits into a smoothie while juicer will squeeze all the juices out of your fruits and veggies, leaving only pure juice without any pulp. However, your juice/smoothie made in nutribullet contained more nutrients. To make pure juices I recommend using a juicer.

Hi Deadra. I wish you a lot of strength and hope that the juices will not only make it easier for you but also you will enjoy them as much as you did this one. And if it doesn’t taste to your liking, try adding more of your favorite fruits. Thanks so much for taking time to leave feedback!

Are beet, orange, carrot and apple mutually combinable for juice making?
Julia | Happy Foods Tube says
Yes, they are.
Nelly says
I don’t have a juicer, will I still get the same benefits if I combine, 100% orange juice, 100% beet juice and 100% carrot juice? Thanks.
Julia | Happy Foods Tube says
Hi Nelly. I am not sure if you get the same benefits. I would say you might get some depending on the type of juice you buy. I would recommend buying natural juices without any sugars added if you wanna try. It’s always good to add 100% juices to your diet even if they are store-bought but it is important to read the labels. Hope this helps.
Tracy says
Basic question here…
Is it 2.2 lbs of oranges BEFORE they’re peeled, or AFTER they’re peeled?
And the same for the carrots….1.1 lbs before? or after?
Thanks.
Julia | Happy Foods Tube says
Hi Tracy. I usually eyeball this as I make large batches and it always turn out great. You can do either way. If you are not that comfortable with using beets in juicing, then it is even better if you start with a larger amount of oranges (which you would get with 2.2lb of peeled oranges. When it comes to carrots, it does not really matter as you won’t get such a difference in weight after peeling). If not sure, start with 2.2 lbs of oranges before peeling but don’t be afraid to experiment. Hope this helps!
